Dear Friends, I am Nikita and I will be more than happy to be your guide in St.Petersburg.
On June 2000 I have obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Faculty of Oriental and African Studies, St. Petersburg State University and on June 2003 a Master’s degree from the same University. Both degrees were summa cum laude. In 2007 I also got a Ph.D. degree in History from St.Petersburg State University. In 2009-2011 I worked as a postdoctoral fellow at History Department of Peking University where I studied Sino-Russian (Soviet) relations.
In 2010 I also taught one-semester course on Russian history (19 – 20 cc.) at History Department of Peking University. The work at Peking University gave me a perfect chance to develop and improve my ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of people. Now I am teaching Chinese History at the Faculty of Oriental and African Studies, St. Petersburg State University and work as a guide during my spare time.

Living in such a fantastic city as St.-Petersburg gives you a lot of opportunities to learn and discover. And being a tour guide you have a constant need to move on to new knowledge. Meeting new people, showing them around our stunning city and sharing your knowledge with them is really great. Moreover, it is very exciting and challenging to deal with people from around the world getting to know their cultures, traditions and views.
In my opinion, I am quite a sociable and outspoken person and also quite talkative. So, apart from giving information about the city, I never refuse to speak about something else regarding the past and the present of our country, people’s everyday life and concerns and any other issues that might interest our guests. Besides giving historical facts and stories about architectural heritage, I can answer the numerous questions of my clients regarding up-to-date life of the city.
I love the city I live in. Every time I take visitors around St.-Petersburg I can’t help feeling proud of it and falling in love with it again and again. So, I invite you to come to St.-Petersburg and see everything with your own eyes.
